~A Raid on the Arcana~

Yawning, Mikiru sets down his pen and closes his book. He turns to Akkei in the lab, "This one has to do the normal patrol rounds now.... I'll be back around later..." He gets up taking Tatsutahime from her position leaning on the wall and heads out from the labs towards the hallway leading to the main entrance.

Glancing up from the microscope she waves one hand in acknowledgment,"Alright. Be careful,Mikiru-kun." Returning to her study Akkei periodically looks up to scribble something on a notepad,absorbed in her work.'If this works..then..and the next stage can be started..but I'll have to check with the shards in lab 5 later..hmhm.'

Bored and ditching duties Devien walks HQ halls,pacing back and forth in his indecision. Returning to his quarters meant paperwork and he was fed up with that.There's nothing going on,no new missions..how dull.Everything ceased because of those tests but I'm not even allowed in the lab!Slice up one wrong specimen and she throws a hissy fit,going ballistic. Merde. By the time my ban wears off all the shard testing will be over.Lighting a smoke in agitation he stalks down the hallway,taking small pleasure from scaring anyone he passes by with a menacing glare.

Destadi prowls around and notices a 'bridge' leading upwards. "oh? what do we have here?" He climbs the bridge and comes across the Arcana base. he whistles impressed. "well well... quiet a juicy little surprise... I wonder..." he prowls around for an opening. "hmmmmmmm.... there has to be a way in somewhere.... other then the main entrance of coarse..." he lowers his reiatsu to a non-existent level and carefully creeps around the premises.

Finding himself in the left hallway on a third floor and not far from main entry way below Devien pauses,sensing a new voice in the overall emotional scheme of the HQ.Well,well,what's this?A new recruit?Or something more..interesting? Smirking slowly he focuses in on it but the sensation remains muted.Picking out it's somewhere outside and not far he turns to one of the locked windows,getting an idea.Coming up to it Devien pulls the bolts down,disabling security mechanism and pushing window wide open. Leaning out he surveys the area,slowly enjoying his smoke and making sure not to hide his presence."Hmm,what a nice day.A refreshing breeze.I think I'll leave this open." Blowing out a puff of smoke he turns away,heading down the hallway and whistling merrily.He makes sure to keep his presence raised and sensible so one can tell he's retreating away from the window.Turning a corner Devien keeps going,a smirk on his lips that scares anyone seeing it.Heh,let's see what happens next and how smart our visitor is.Maybe this day will turn out entertaining yet.

Sensing someone retreating from a now open window, Destadi glances up. "oh? someone left open a window? ... or... perhaps on purpose?" He jumps up and lands silently near the open window, and peers in to see if anyone is around. Seeing no one, he slips in silently. 'oh my... fancy place they got here...... now let's see...' he prowls stealthily down the hall opposite to the one Devian just turned the corner. He reaches the end of the hallway and peeks around the corner, seeing no one he continues creeping down the hallway, taking care not to be seen.

Mikiru continues down the corridor, and passes Devian, he gives him a side ways glance before continuing past him. Rounding the corner he continues down the hallway, coming up to the open window. "eh? why's the window open?" He closes the window, then steps away noticing that the security system was deactivated. "..... ... I'll have to have one of the technicians take a look at that.... the security system was inactive...." he switches the system back on, and continues his way to the end of the corridor.

freezing, Destadi turns around sensing someone coming his way. he looks around quickly for a place to hide, finding none, he looks up at the ceiling and sees a small gap between a support beam and the wall. He jumps up quickly but silently, and stealthily braces himself between the support and the wall. He looks down, just as Mikiru passes the area he just was. 'phew... I almost blew mine cover.... hm....' he eyes mikiru warily, '.... hm.. perhaps... I could knock him out... yes.. that will work...' he smiles mischievously, and shimmies down carefully without making any noise. feeling a bit excited, his reiatsu slips, just rising only ever so slightly.

walking past destadi's hiding place, he stops. suddenly feeling a slight rise in reiatsu he murmurs: 'dance Tatsutahime...' His scythe transforms into a long sword with a blade on the handle as well. He turns around and lashes out with his blade, causing the longer blade to fly from the handle like whip. the blade slashes Destadi while at the same time effectively slamming him to the ground. "... greeeeeeeeeeat..." he switches on his ear piece. "Attention... This is number 13 The Death... There's been a breach in security... Requesting emergency lock-down and immediate back up if possible.... current position 4th floor 2nd hall.." he glances over at Destadi, while retracting his Shikai's whip-blade. "I don't care how you got in here.. but.. This one shall see to it that you do not escape from here without injury..."

Slamming the to the ground hard, Destadi gets up rubbing the spot Mikiru's blade slashed him. "nrg... That was most unpleasant..... tsk...." he draws his dual zanpakuto blades. "I really wish you hadn't noticed me.... but..." he smiles charmingly, "I guess.. being as sharp as you are... I guess I haven't much choice now." He lunges forward as slashes at Mikiru's sides.

Quickly blocking Destadi's strikes, Mikiru thrusts his blade forward, throwing Destadi backward. He follows up by lashing out again with his blade whip, stabbing Destadi in the shoulder. Pulling his blade back, Mikiru rushes forward slashing destadi across his chest, then slashing him in the sides as well as his back. "I have nothing to say to you...." he lands a little ways away behind destadi waiting to see the effects of his attack.

getting pushed back by mikiru, he only manages to block a few of mikiru's attacks. small red lines open up along destadi's sides but quickly heal. He looks back at mikiru and grins. "heh... still strike like a vicious wolf...." he grins raising his blades, now stained red. "you were so focused on attacking me.... you forgot to defend yourself."

Feeling pain explode across his sides and back, Mikiru looks down, seeing blood dripping to the floor below him. "wh-what?" He turns to Destadi, "nrg.... ochiba-kakuhan!! (lit. whipping dead leaf)" Mikiru lashes his blade at destadi, and it splits into several smaller blades that fly at destadi before disappearing to reform into they're original shape.

"Heh.... You're not the only one with shikai Mikiru-kun" He raises his blades and swats down all of the small blades flying at him. "pounce... Kaisatora.." his zanpakuto transform into two identical half-moon blades, with serrated edges at the ends. three long spikes run along the bigger edges of the blades, there's also the kanji for 'fire' inscribed on the flat side of either blade. "heh... I really didn't want to fight anyone... but... I guess I may as well have some fun right?" he rushes at Mikiru, "Hatora!!!! (lit. Blade tiger)" Destadi sends a flurry of swipes at Mikiru from all directions, in total up to 60 slashes.

Eyes widening when Destadi goes shikai, Mikiru has barely anytime to block the attack. more then half of the swipes cut deep wounds in his sides and midsection. Blood streams from his wounds and onto the floor. He sinks to one knee, and coughs, blood blooming on his lips. "nhg... " he forces himself to stand, "huff.. huff... I... won't... yeild.. that easily.." he looks up at destadi and rushes at him, "yoarashi!! (lit. night storm)" Mikiru brings his blade down on destadi, waves of dark energy erupt from the blade and lash out at him, slicing into his sides and midsection with ease.

Blocking Mikiru's sword, Destadi looks around in surprise when the dark energy blades sink into his sides and stomach with ease. bloody wounds open all along his body staining his hakama a deep red. He smiles coldly as red starts to trickle from his mouth. "heh... you still have some fight in you.... well... I'll just have to fix that." he kicks mikiru into a wall, then sonidos over to him, stabbing him in the lower stomach with the serrated end off his blade.

Not expecting to be kicked into the wall and have the wind knocked out of him, Mikiru looks up right when Destadi's serrated blade sinks all the way into his lower stomach. Coughing, blood wells up in his throat, spilling out his mouth. Mikiru winces painfully feeling the serrated teeth dig into his insides. "nhg... damn it..." he kicks out at Destadi to push him away.

____Somewhere else___

Situated on a windowsill a few hallways away from the fight Devien whistles merrily,reading emotional and spiritual signatures.Well,it did turn out to be something interesting.And here come reinforcements. Too bad they will have an accident.Opening his eyes at sound of footsteps he smiles at the approaching group of Arrancars,standing up lazily.Before they can realize what's happening he flickers through,reappearing near the window. One after another each Arrancar falls,cut in half,surprised expression frozen on each face.Swinging the blade suddenly appeared in his hands to clear off blood he sheathes it,sitting down again.Returning to feeling the fight he resumes whistling a cheery tune.Let's see your true strength,wolf-san.And this interesting guest we have...

Destadi jumps back while pulling out his blade from mikiru's stomach. He lands a little ways away from mikiru, and smiles seeing his blood spill to the floor. "hee hee hee..... aw... all worn out? come on..... I've only just started warming up."

Gasping in pain, Mikiru drops to his knees and clutches the gaping wound in his stomach. He coughs up more blood, and focuses his reiryoku to stop the bleeding. He gets to his feet while wheezing painfully. "...I......won't......die....so...easily..... kokushibyou..... (lit. black death)" Mikiru summons a dark shadow that surrounds Destadi, sharp black blades materialize and stab into destadi from all sides.

When the shadow surrounds Destadi, he breaks free from it just when he's impaled by the shadow swords. "rrg... that hurt... even when you're backed into a corner... ya still have the guts to make one last bite... Not bad Mikiru-kun." He steps towards mikiru when the shadow blades disappear, "heh... tsk... If I could show mercy.. I'd kill you quickly..... but.." He stabs Mikiru just below the rib cage with the serrated end of his blade. "I'll leave you hear to slowly bleed to death, while I continue on to claim the shards of the hogyoku." he smiles cheerfully as he twists the blade and pulls it out slowly from Mikiru's midsection. He gets up and continues on down the hall passing two hallways and turning the corner into another one, he deactivates his shikai and continues on taking care not be seen.

Mikiru gasps when destadi stabs him below the rib cage. He growls angrily at Destadi when he mentions going to steal the hogyoku shards. Before he can say anything in protest, Destadi twists the blade and pulls it out out slow and painfully as he can. He lets out a small high pitched whine, but doesn't scream out loud. he lands on the ground, wheezing as blood pours from his wounds. "Hurf... augh.... bast...ard...." he coughs painfully and tries to stop the bleeding by gathering reiryoku to his most serious injuries.

___Other Hallway___
Feeling the fight concluded Devien smirks,interest in their guest rising.With route Destadi is taking leading his way he decides to wait,extinguishing his reiryoku into non-existing level not to alarm before time.Shall we see what you look like,mystery guest?Taking out the head of security was interesting feat.

Going to check on call about intruder Yasei rounds a corner,stopping short in surprise seeing Mikiru bleeding on the ground,"What the bloody hell??" Quick check confirming there's no enemy hiding he rushes forward."Mikiru!!What the hell happened to you?!We need to get you to infirmary!!"
