A mysterious,tightly knit group hidden in the shadows,that is best description for The Masked. Centuries ago,it was started by equally mysterious man known only as The Maker.Approaching those who have potential to become a Vizard,were changing into one or have already become one he would offer opportunity to the first,guidance and help to the second and a place to belong to all three.The Masked is a loosely organized group,with hierarchy and ranks meaning little,up-keeping a family like atmosphere.A safe haven for all Vizards.It is closely knit,with members helping each other,those older and more experienced giving guidance to those needing it.Whole group gets involved when member undergoes full change,helping during their struggle to defeat inner Hollow and in mastering powers that come from victory over it..or when needed,destroying full Hollow born if the inner fight is lost.Despite being the groups creator and integral for its existence,The Maker doesn't truly rule over it.All important decisions are voted on by all,with Maker more giving suggestions then orders.However,he does hold authority,with his advice and suggestions listened to.

~Location~
The Masked have their base in the Human World,considering it more prudent then having one in Seireitei.A large sprawling Victorian mansion,located on huge piece of property far enough from prying eyes to be hidden and secret but close enough to nearest city for quick access to anything needed.Ancient woods surround the property,hiding it away from sight,being part of it,with mountains standing at mansion's back,mountain river coming down and cutting through the property.There are a number of large,well maintained gardens around the grounds:Summer,Spring,Roses,Wild along with other themes,an observatory,three large pools along with jacuzzi and sauna,atrium and more.Different training grounds are set up to the west,with proper barriers around them to keep damages inside.The whole mansion is breathtaking.Build of red brick,with many large windows,balconies and towers,white decorations molded and arranged tastefully, black roof glistening in the sun.Ivy crawls along walls in places,carpeting them in green.Large hall greets upon entrance,with cherry wood paneled walls,marble staircase lined with rugs running from left and right sides to join in the middle,like an upside down u,leading to second floor.Large chandelier hangs on high ceiling.Hallways go to left,right,and straight,past the staircase and further inside.With it's size,the mansion is divided into West and East wings.Many rooms are housed inside,up kept and well maintained.The kitchen,dining room,guest rooms and infirmary are on ground floor. Library and personal rooms on second.There are also gaming,weapons,meeting,computer, training,science,recreation,entertainment, conference and office rooms,along with labs,living rooms and more.A special room is set up in West tower with equipment monitoring for Hollows in Human World,along with other anomalies.A large conference room for their meetings is set up in East wing,round table and comfortable chairs dominating it. A large garage can be accessed from West wing,many modes of transportation housed inside,from cars to motorcycles,with members private vehicles also parked here.Because of the mansion's size,a speaker system has been installed in every room,allowing quick gathering of everyone if needed. Security system,consisting of: cameras,motion sensors,traps and barriers,protects the property.Stumbling onto the grounds by accident is close to impossible,with fence and large gates ringing around them,and also quite the remote location.All members are entered into intricate security system,with their signatures recognized,and also having code word as added measure.Any strangers on the property would immediately trip alarms,with protective barrier around the mansion itself making it very hard indeed to enter uninvited,as one would have to break through.The whole property has been obtained by The Maker,and is kept up by his funds mostly.Where he gets such money is a mystery to all.Besides the mansion,there are also a number of flats situated in different cities,for members out on missions to have place to stop.A hideout is also present in far reaches of Soul Society,hidden underground.Not all members remain at mansion,some come and go,having their own places.One particular thing of The Masked,is that all Vizards are welcome,even if they already belong with Gotei 13.There is a required gathering of all members twice a year,in middle of summer and close to or right after New Years.Individual members not staying at the mansion also check in periodically.The Maker himself,comes and goes.He might stay for half a year and suddenly disappear for other half,appearing just as suddenly.Everyone has gotten used to his irregular comings and goings,but he always leaves a way to be contacted.

~Goals~
The Masked has not shown themselves much so far,nor have they exhibited any particular goals.Keeping their shinigami duties,they react to powerful Hollows and Arrancars showing in human world.Members get send out in pairs of two usually,sometimes three and sometimes alone,on missions to:investigate,hunt down Hollows,gather information,aid battle going on or observe a potential member.They also watch out for other potential Vizards.Any member may bring information regarding prospect new member,with team of two then send out to observe them for small period.From gathered information it's decided how invitation to join will be extended.If The Maker is present, his opinion is part of deciding vote.He also often brings new members himself,or directs to them.


~Alliances and Enemies~
-Higher ups in Gotei 13 are aware of The Masked existence,with during difficult battles Vizards from it often showing up to help.There's an unspoken alliance against Hollows between Gotei 13 and The Masked.For difficult and potentially dangerous missions they also sometimes contact The Masked,requesting their assistance.Members of the group have divided opinions,some saying Gotei 13 is just using them others saying even unspoken alliance is better then none at all.Both organizations exchange information with each other,having solid relationship despite all.
-The Masked also have neutral alliance with Xcution,often being comrades in battles and a more strained relationship with Crossing Arrows,distrust for them clearly evident from the Quincies.
-Las Noches and Espada are their main enemies,however,Science Group is even bigger enemy for The Masked,with number of members having become Vizard as result of SG experiments.That makes it easy to see why SG is viewed with deep hatred by almost all members of The Masked.

Unit 1 is the main fighting force of The Masked.It's the largest unit and most divers,with members fighting skills ranging greatly.They go on different missions and patrol human world for Hollows and other supernatural disturbances.Members are trained in optimizing their powers and abilities,basic first aid knowledge,how to battle on any terrain and use to it to advantage,and adopting to the situation at hand.

-Unit 2- Defenders Unit

Unit two is made up of elites and best of the best,veterans with much experience and large stamina,leaving battle last after making sure everyone else got away first.They are trained in different fighting tactics,besides usage of their powers, including hand to hand combat and convert tactics,how to provide basic first aid,quickly withdraw from situation going bad and more. They provide cover for others and draw enemy attention to themselves to allow removal of wounded and civilians from the fight.For tricky,impossible,suicidal and extremely dangerous missions,they answer the call.This unit is also one with most losses.Their motto is," Safety of others first."

Unit three is made of avid kido users and those who are best at providing support to those fighting rather then directly engaging enemy.Its members are excellent tacticians,devising pre-battle strategies and can quickly come up with best ways to engage enemy during ongoing fight.They are quick on their feet,using abilities and creations from Unit 5 to provide cover fire and support during battle.Members of this unit are trained in providing first aid,to hold out until medical team gets there,know how to stay under cover and move quickly before enemy can pin point their location, and usually have supportive abilities that are better suited to long range fighting and supporting others then direct upfront confrontations.

-Unit 4-Black Ops

Unit four deals with gathering of information and subtle approaches requiring subterfuge.Shadows are their friends.Able to get into anywhere,get anything,and get out, they are a lethal mix of perfect assassin,spy and thief.By the time one realizes they're under attack from member of this unit,it's too late.In a fight they find opponents weakness and strike at it from the shadows mercilessly.This unit is also usually the one on lookout for other Vizards and does surveillance over potential members.Its members are trained in silent movement,erasing their tracks and leaving no trace, breaking and entering without leaving evidence they were there,escaping any situations,reading facial and body language to tell what person is thinking and if they are lying, being able to lie perfectly themselves,reading lips,infiltration,reading spiritual signatures,locating and disabling traps,tracking,disappearing without a trace,different types of combat including hand to hand and handling of small weapons that can be easily hidden-like daggers,camouflaging on the fly and changing their appearance, and more.Infiltration and gathering of information is handled by them,as well as obtainment of information from captured enemies,by any means necessary.Jail cells are located within Unit 4, they handle prisoners,whether captured enemies or traitors.Members of this unit have nerves of steel,feeling equally at home in high society environment and amid bloody battlefield;able to keep quiet no matter how badly they're injured as not to attract enemy attention and in case of capture remaining silent and spilling no secrets.Unit 4 also handles HQ security,teams in pairs of two's patrolling the premises.Members of this sector mostly wear black when on missions,blending into shadows and out of sight. Unit 4 has large database of knowledge and files on every member of HQ as well as important persons from other organizations.

-Unit 5- Research and Development

Unit five doesn't engage in combat.Instead,they work on creating new technologies and inventions for The Masked.They are in charge of monitoring systems that watches Human World for Hollow appearances,as well as communications network keeping all members connected.They device strategy and test out enemies weaknesses,providing intel on best ways to approach certain enemies.If entering a battlefield it's usually after battle has concluded,in order to gather information.However,members of this unit are more then able to fight when they need to,bringing added omph to the fight with their inventions.There is a large mainframe computer,Varaj, at the center of the unit and is crucial to its workings.It monitors human world for any anomalies,presences of spiritual entities and Hollow attacks;maintain communications between HQ and teams out on missions and in the field;has large database of knowledge;can briefly connect to computer system in Seireitei's 12th division's Department of Research and Development;maintain protective barrier running over HQ and much more.

-Unit 6-Medical

Unit six takes care of everyone's health and treats wounded,they are the healers.Overseeing infirmary they treat wounded and injured, do regular scheduled medical exams and work on creating better medicine's.They have medical files on all members and do health check ups on everyone twice a year.Infirmary is upgraded with latest and best medical equipment available and has two operating rooms.Computer system consisting of three motherboards connected into one network makes up mainframe that runs equipment,maintain huge medical database for consulting,runs scans,has medical files on everyone and can connect to HQ's mainframe. They usually show to a fight after the battle is over,to treat the wounded.Members of this sector have medical and scientific backgrounds and are trained in using their spiritual energy for healing.If they ever show up on battlefield it's usually after,to treat the wounded,or as part of three man cell.

-Unit 7-External and Internal Affairs

Unit 7 is the public face of The Masked,up-keeping connections and alliances,they are the diplomats.Once battle is over it's Unit seven that does the clean up,replacing memories of humans when needed and cleaning up environmental damage while creating cover stories.They also regulate internal affairs,making sure all units are functioning properly.They are in charge of sorting all the new recruits,training them and looking through applications before they are sent to the unit's Comaners.Any internal disagreements between units are handled by them.A large number of other duties rests on Unit 7,including: resupplying,observing members to watch for spies and leaking of information,making sure everything functions properly,division of funds into each sectors budgets,keeping main budget balanced and more.Celebrations..as well as funerals...are also organized by them.

On ranks:
Commander:Is in charge of their unit.All orders and missions come from the Commander and it's their job to be informed and keep in touch with Commanders of other units.Besides keeping affairs of the unit in order,balancing budget and keeping members in check,it's also their duty to help members of unit become stronger and better, doing exercises and trainings with whole unit.Commander is the backbone of their unit.If they aren't up to par,whole unit suffers.(Note: Commanders need to be active and involved with their unit,engaging them,and other Sectors even, in missions and keeping involved.)
Vice-Commander: Is the left hand of Commander and stand in when s/he isn't there.Part of paperwork goes on Vice,and they bring any missions to be approved to the Commander.Vice also has to keep open relations with members of the unit,being there if they require assistance or help.
Seated Officers: Are members with experience,who have proven themselves and their capabilities.They get assigned smaller tasks within the unit,such as resupplying on bandages and medication.It's also their job to share experience and train other members,as well as upkeep unit's morale.
Members: Are the most numerous and main force of any unit.

~Uniforms,gadgets,rules,important NPC's and misc~
-There is no set uniform,with everyone dressing as they will,considering their masks unifying aspect.However,all members receive a pin,bracelet or necklace,upon their choosing, in shape of organizations symbol.Because organization is so tightly knit,everyone knows everyone else.Each member has a cellphone, reminiscent of soul phone,denreishinki.It tracks and maps nearby Hollows and other spiritual entities,allows communication between members and with the mansion, and can be used to contact The Maker directly.
-The Maker is an NPC character for now.Handsome man,in his thirties,with shaggy black hair and silver gray eyes,he wears sharp black suite and black fedora hat.He appears weaponless until his zanpakuto suddenly appears in his hands,called from some secret space.Despite him being creator of The Masked,very little is known about him to them beyond bare facts: he's a very old Vizard,appears to be infinitely rich,his power is unmatched and he used to have a high position within Gotei 13 long ago.Coming and going however he pleases The Maker allows organization to run itself,seldom presenting missions or objectives.Interesting peculiarity is that if he helped person who had sleeping potential to become a Vizard in waking it,he always asks for favor in return,to be payed off at some later date.There are rumors that's he's gathering those favors for some big plan.Attitudes towards The Maker range between respect,loyalty,fear and resentment.


~Things to know~
-When making character for this organization,consider carefully how and why they're becoming/become a Vizard.Where they captured by SG and experimented on? Approached by Maker with offer of more power and opportunity?Exposed to large concentration of Hollow energy?How it happened will color their views and opinions.Also consider their view on being a Vizard. Do they hate what they've become?Love it?For what reasons? Depending on their view on being Vizard their treatment of themselves and others will differ.
-Consider how your character joins The Masked.Where they recruited?Seek'd the place on their own in desperation?Whether they're an older member or new one,their joining of The Masked can be role played out.
-Besides their duties with their unit each member of The Masked also has inner organizational duties,to help keep the place running.These vary greatly,from helping at medical ward,training younger members,resupplying different things,like food; to security and budget balancing.You can pick one or think of new one.
-For all members,organization is like a family,with each person knowing difficulties one must face in being a Vizard.
